Bravely directed by Johnny Green, with visual effects courtesy of the Mill, Jump was shot over the Mojave desert with seven cameras, two planes, a helicopter and 45 of the world's most experienced skydivers.
Guided by their controller (with the distinctive voice of Garrison Keillor) the skydivers jump out of two planes at 10,000 feet.

Like synchronized swimmers they breathtakingly configure themselves in free-fall to represent aspects of the Accord - steering, suspension, rear-view camera - before deploying coloured parachutes, forming the word ACCORD, and descending gracefully to earth.
The Mill composited work on the flat scans whilst the edit was being finalized. Having agreed the look, Adam Scott conformed the spot in a data-grading suite so he could grade the shots in the context of the edit. With so much footage from seven cameras and multiple aspects the telecine process was infinitely creative, accurate and efficient, which allowed Adam to balance the spot and grade at high-resolution. An elegant saturated look was achieved by applying a print lookup table (LUT) which was gradually backed-off to leave just the essence of a print feel. Not so difficult - definitely worth doing.
