Wieden+Kennedy Portland and Traktor of Traktor Towers pull in the power-players for the Nike spot 'Piano'. Starring Kobe Bryant and Lionel Ritchie, it's a mockudrama of the Kobe Piano - an instrument that "will turn piano boys into piano men". We provided set extensions, matte paintings, CG replacement work and color-grading to create multiple locations for an ad filmed entirely on one set.

"We were working with a very high-end cast who had a very short window of time," said Robert Sethi, shoot supervisor and creative director. "Getting the legends Kobe Bryant and Lionel Ritchie together in one room is already quite a feat, so a key element of supervising on a project like this is being fast and flexible. James Allen was also on set to supervise which maximized the minimal time we had!
It was a really enjoyable shoot not only because they were such exciting people to work with, but Wieden+Kennedy Portland and Traktor did a really great job of comic storytelling."
But don't expect to buy this grand piano any time soon - it's really just a dramatic metaphor for the Nike x Bryant collection.
