Working closely with McCann and Director Tom Kuntz from MJZ, The Mill helped create this fun new spot for Just Eat featuring TV characters erupting into song at the mention of the company.
The spot begins with a couple watching television and deciding to order a takeaway, when suddenly the characters in their television come to life and start singing about Just Eat. Flipping through various genres such as sci-fi, horror, drama and animation, each of the channels joins the chorus.
2D Lead Artist Ed Poulson explains ‘The team were tasked with developing looks for each of the genres of programming. For the Game of Thrones-esque wide shot, we created a CG medieval horde to fill the background. In the Science Fiction shots we created CG eyes for the green and purple alien, and made the other alien less human-looking, as well as adding a warp speed lookout off the space ships windows and a large animated graphic for the ship’s bridge. In the Dunkirk-esque shot, CG sprifires were animated and comped in the background, and we did lots of screen comps on all the other shots.
The team and I really enjoyed bringing Tom Kuntz’s vision to life. With many different genres of tv programme to enhance this was a creatively exciting project to work on.’
