Mill+ joined forces with Facebook for their annual Friends Day video feature. Celebrating those special moments of friendships, the date is commemorated every February 4th.
The social network honors Friends Day with pre-populated photos of users’ memories with their friends. The Mill+ team created a library of video modules that Facebook then assigned to users based on data analytics. These modules are themed vignettes that allow for user generated content to be dynamically composited and rendered.
The user content ranges from images and text posts to locations and reactions. In total, the team was responsible for 14 videos, 8 of them were CG and 6 of them live-action. Each module had a theme and dynamic content such as photos, locations, reactions, and more. All the modules were designed in a way where they can be combined in any order seamlessly, with nostalgia serving as an overarching theme.
