This spot stars Usain Bolt running on a treadmill while a full orchestra plays progressively faster and faster music to keep up with his incredible speed, moving to a crescendo. Eventually the conductor has to go so quickly that he accidentally hits Bolt in the face with his baton, sending him tumbling off the treadmill and crashing through a wall.
 

Shoot Supervisor and 2D Lead Artist Andrew 'Barnsley' Wood explains ‘For the part when Usain Bolt falls, we used a hybrid of two shots. First we got the stunt double to lay down on the treadmill, and they hoisted him backwards with wires through a polystyrene wall, and in a second shot we got him to fall over in a comical style, then comped these two together. We tidied also added CG particles of the wall collapsing underneath him.

 

For other shots, the team experimented with some unorthodox methods to get the most realistic look. When the violin catches fire and the musician blows it out, that was done by the artists using a baking tray and some lighter fuel, which were lit it on fire and then blown out in the same way as the man in the shot did. We then successfully comped those two shots together.’
