Mill+ is excited to have joined forces with EA, SolidTrack and Antfood to create an augmented reality piece for the announcement of Anthem at the 2018 EA Play Conference.
EA Play, hosted by game giant Electronic Arts, gives fans the chance to check out the latest game titles. Anthem is EA’s next major AAA title and their first original IP in 10 years. EA approached Mill+ to come up with several ideas for the show focusing on Anthem and Augmented Reality.
Mill+’s Emerging Technology team, led by Creative Director Will Adams, set out to craft an AR live stage activation for the EA Play press conference at the Hollywood Palladium. The epic live show featured a battle between the Javelins and, yet to be publically revealed, Golem; a 50-foot-tall elemental rock monster that shoots fire from his fists. The team crafted a fight scene that spilled out from the Anthem world onto the stage of the Palladium and soared over the audience.
The battle was built in Unreal with game assets provided by EA developer, Bioware. To bring the scene to life, Mill+ also teamed up with real-time camera tracking company SolidTrack to achieve live compositing and recording at the event.
Five hundred employees and members of the press witnessed the live AR battle, while millions streamed the show live on YouTube and Twitch.
