Comedy Central South America's 'Hawks' satirizes the Canadian hawks migration, as they seek Latin American warm weather, and shows their sudden behavior changes due to distractions they encounter on arrival.
The Mill introduced complex VFX for this network promo as part of the Comedy Continent campaign from Wieden+Kennedy São Paulo, Brazil and Hungry Man. The team helped to tell a story reflecting the humor of the Latin American market.
John Leonti, Head of 3D and creative director at The Mill explains, "My role as the VFX supervisor for Hawks was to first brief the R&D department on the requirements of the feather system that we needed to write for the spot, taking into account what the anticipated animation of the Hawks would be. Beyond that, we had to decide if a 2D or 3D solution would be used to achieve the best results."
Working with Wieden+Kennedy and Hungry Man creatives for this spot allowed the Mill team to create CG hawks that were very enthusiastic, but that could play into a more comical aspects of living in regions such as Latin America and Brazil.
