Working alongside Director Aella Jordan-Edgede and Familia, The Mill helped to create this beautiful new music video for Scouting for Girls single ‘Dancing In The Daylight’.
‘Dancing in the Daylight’ takes the audience on a journey through the streets of London in a fun and energetic dance sequence which takes place in and amongst the general public, most notably in one scene the dancers travel on the tube using their surrounding as props to their routine.
Mill Colourist Oisin O’Driscoll explains ‘Due to the nature of this video spanning across the length of a day a lot of the scenes were cut so that they crossed over at multiple different times and therefore the natural lighting had to be adjusted so that this was not an overly obvious feature within the spot.
There was also an issue with some of the scenes being shot on different cameras with different file formats, to correct this I used a grade which complemented both types of file format and applied this to the whole film. The overall look for this spot was very natural with a slightly faded black and keeping strong colour separation throughout the frames, whilst at the same time not over saturating the clothing.’
