This spring, Jamila and Chance sought out Chicago Public School to offer high school students the opportunity to submit treatments for Jamila's forthcoming music video. The contest winner, Ashley Huicochea, a senior at the time, attended the shoot to see her idea come to life. Ons set, she worked closely with the directors and gained first hand experience of filmmaking. A few other CPS students attended, each shadowing crew members in different specialties and participating in the making of.
The music video is a love letter to Chicago and its pristine Lake Michigan shores. Both artists, native Chicagoans, along with their budding filmmakers and the team at VAM studio captured the essence of Chicago: backyard parties, sprawling beaches and vivacious communities.
