The film was shot in a classic stop-motion animation studio where Gondry used different animation techniques in order to bring the inanimate objects to life. 2D Lead Corey Brown comments "We shot over a couple of day in a classic stop-motion animation studio in Prague. Surrounded by dozens of old miniature props and characters hanging from the walls, we turned the space into a huge hand-crafting day.

 

We used a few different animation techniques to gather all the material we needed, and it was a really great experience to watch Olivier actually bringing all these inanimate objects to life.

 

The post side of things proved to be a lot trickier than we expected, layering so many single frame edits on top of each other, but we managed to work out some interesting techniques that made the process fairly smooth, and the result ended up being a lot of fun."
