One almost has the feeling that we are watching the end of the world, where few are left living and brutality reigns. To create the appearance of an end of the world broadcast, Flame Artist Andy Bate maneuvered various tricks. He simulated the interface of a transmission. He put the images on VHS and then played it back wiggling the VHS player to give a sense of distortion. Andy removed any evidence that might affix it to its downtown LA location. He also produced some crowd replication for the end shot, generating the appearance of hundreds of people waiting for KPHU.
