Soft focus and almost still-like shots help to create a dreamy melancholy throughout, with sporadic aerial shots helping to sustain a feeling of slight isolation from start to finish.
While they never interact in the piece, viewers are made aware of two young people at a crossroads in their relationship, which has grown sad and hopeless, heavily juxtaposed by the environment in which this video is shot, a vast summer haven spread across desert land, lush green forest, and the seacoast.
The shots fall in symbiosis with the song, and paired with sunset lighting, it see’s the video draw to a close with a strong feeling of nostalgia, and a lasting sense of regret amongst two lover’s that, in finality, they couldn’t make it work between them.
