To produce a real and natural look around the piece, Derek moved away from using hard blacks. Instead, he emphasized the soft colours, while still sustaining the dark settings and melancholy tone. The grade helps to capture the saddening relationship depicted in the film.

Derek says, “This was one of the best videos that Tim, Jackson and I created together. We worked off stills to determine the tone and decide which colouring would make the video believable. It was a really enjoyable film to grade with great talent.”
