The vignettes introduce several characters to the show, including Tommy Clarke (played by Robbie Kay) featured here. Starting with a concept developed by NBC, Creative Director Eugene Gauran helped lead artists at The Mill in creating dreamlike elements tailored to each character’s story.

Eugene comments, “NBC had an idea of how they wanted the characters to be portrayed in the vignettes, and we worked closely with them to elevate those concepts and stay true to the character motifs they created. One of the central themes was the vortex effect based on the aurora borealis.”

Artists went to work and completed the project in a three-week turnaround time. Adds Eugene, “Everyone really came together for this one. I owe a lot to our Nuke team – they constantly rose to the challenge as the vignettes evolved!”
