Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods star in 'Ripple,' the inspiring new addition to Nike Golf's 'There's Always Better' campaign from Wieden+Kennedy (Portland) in collaboration with The Mill and director Steve Rogers of Biscuit Filmworks.

As a young boy growing up in Northern Ireland, McIlroy was inspired by Woods. 'Ripple' takes a touching look back at McIlroy's childhood, perfecting his swing at home and at the driving range and religiously watching Woods' victories on television. Now 25, McIlroy has tallied four major wins of his own.
Creative director Tim Davies supervised on set and back at The Mill where he led the 2D team. The storytelling aspect of the spot, Davies told us, came from a place of authenticity. "Rory's uncle, Brian, was on set the whole time advising us to make sure we were true to the real story and that we depicted Rory and his family as accurately as possible. It was fantastic having him there to ensure a genuine and respectful approach to the story."
Davies and the crew visited multiple locations where Rory actually grew up - his home and golf club - to elicit a personal connection with the audience. Davies continues, "It was a really rewarding shoot. There was a real sense of local pride everywhere we went and the community were so excited that we were there to help tell the story of Rory. It's beautifully shot, told and directed - a great project to be a part of."
