"I've always liked The Rapture", Ben explains. "Their music is about taking different styles and mashing them into new things; which is what I wanted to do with this video." Taking his cue from prominent video directors, such as Hype Williams, Paul Hunter and Chris Robinson, and with The Mill to help, Ben gave the objects-in-a-void technique a twist all his own.
The creative team wanted a more varied palette than the cool black-and-white imagery of many objects-in-a-void videos. Mill colourist Damien Van Der Cruyssen gave the HD footage, originally shot in colour, a slight selenium purple look. After grading it black-and-white he brought back subtle tints of colour on, for instance, the drums, guitar and chandelier, and retained elements of skin-tone on the band members. Mill Flame artist Richard de Carteret worked more realism into the shadows out of which the band members and dancers make their entrance. Rebuilding over half them, he achieved a grey outline to match the silhouettes.
