Antoine came to The Mill looking to create an exciting and dramatic view into the athletes world of skiing, speed skating and sledding. It was essential that the personality of the athletes came through in each vignette. The tech scout and preproduction process was incredibly collaborative; Antoine and Mill VFX supervisor Westley Sarokin looked for the best technology and method to tell the story and build striking worlds for the athletes to perform in.

Shot over four days at a sports facility in Calgary, Canada, The Mill team captured every detail of the athlete's training and run-through in order to recreate it flawlessly for the final spot. After the shoot,  The Mill's 2D and 3D teams created environments that pushed the limit of what was believable, giving them an otherworldly feel, and then, integrated them together.

Every shot was treated by the 2D team to harmoniously create a visually impressive fantasy world within the realistic aesthetic of winter athletics.
