Agency:
The Brooklyn Brothers
The Mill helped bring 'The Return of Lasso' together, working once again with The Brooklyn Brothers Agency.
In the first spot, 'Jason Sudeikis', Lasso had just been fired as coach from Tottenham Hot Spurs. This second spot picks up after he's failed miserably at a sports broadcasting career in England, due in large part to his inability to understand 'relegation.' The ineptitude doesn't stop here, there's a fierce junior girls football team, the 'fighting owls,' unfortunate enough to call him 'coach'. Tim Howard gets stuck talking to Lasso in a bar and his inability to understand 'offside' remains.
With over six minutes in the final film, The Mill and The Brooklyn Brothers worked closely together taking various formats, several locations and multi-cam shoots, and streamlining them into one solid piece of comedic content. Jason Sudeikis improvised so much during the shoot, that a completely different ten minute piece could have been created! Graded by Mill colorist Fergus McCall the look was kept crisp and clean while fine tuning the footage to focus on Lasso's ridiculously amusing performance.
As the film ends Ted Lasso is invited back to England, as head coach of Leicester. The wanker returns!
