The Mill is pleased to announce the promotion of James Allen to the role of Creative Director in the Los Angeles studio.
Since his arrival at The Mill LA six years ago, James has served as an outstanding leader among clients and staff alike. On top of his ability as an award-winning VFX Supervisor and Flame Artist, James’ deep technical understanding across multiple disciplines has earned his reputation as an astute problem-solver and expert of the post-production process.
His portfolio of Mill work boasts numerous high-profile projects, many of which have gone to the Super Bowl, including Audi ‘Doberhuahua’, Coca-Cola ‘Download Happiness’, TurboTax ‘Medical Expenses’ and Ram’s recent ‘Icelandic Vikings’. Additionally, the time and attention James has put toward nurturing client relationships – particularly with agencies such as Wieden+Kennedy and MAL – has only bolstered The Mill’s long-term work for iconic brands such as Nike and Old Spice.
As Creative Director, James will continue to help oversee the creative and technical development of the 2D department while strengthening our studio’s vital relationships; not only with agencies, brands and directors, but within The Mill family as well.
The Mill’s Phil Crowe (Executive Creative Director) says, "It only makes sense that James’ two-decade career should culminate in this new role, which isn’t so much ‘new’ as it is a well-deserved acknowledgement of the work he’s been putting in for quite some time. We couldn't be more thrilled.”
